Troubleshooting

Map not loading or blank tiles
  • Check internet connectivity — map tiles and ORN lookups require network access.
  • Android: Verify Google Maps API key is configured in the app build.
  • Linux: Ensure flutter_map tile sources are reachable; check firewall rules.
  • Restart the app after changing network or VPN settings.
Location / map permissions denied

Grant location permissions in system settings if the app requests them for map centering. You can still navigate manually to your jobsite by panning the map — chain capture does not require GPS if you can locate the work zone visually.

ORN segment not found when tapping the map
  • Tap closer to the road centerline — lookups search within a radius of your tap point.
  • Confirm you are within Ontario — ORN coverage is province-wide but not outside ON.
  • Check that road authority data services are reachable (network/firewall).
Plan generation blocked / compliance error

This is intentional when the jobsite cannot fit the requested layout within Book 7 rules — for example, insufficient upstream road length for the selected closure type at the posted speed. Try a different layout type, extend your chain capture to include more upstream road, or review remediation options shown in the app dialog. The engine will not generate a non-compliant plan.

PDF export fails or is empty
  • Ensure a compliant plan was generated successfully before exporting.
  • Wait for the map snapshot to finish rendering on the result screen.
  • Check available disk space and print/share permissions on your device.
  • On Linux, confirm the printing/PDF plugin has required system libraries.
